About Robin

Ever since I can remember, I have loved making art. My mother, an amateur painter, encouraged my passion, giving me crayons, pencils, construction paper, and paints to create many a “masterpiece.” As I grew older, I participated in poster contests, made elaborate holiday decorations, and practiced painting in the style of my favorite artists. In college, I majored in studio art and spent a year abroad studying art in France and Italy.

My passion for art is matched by my love for science. I also majored in zoology in college, and decided to follow my interest in science. I became a physician. I started a family, and like many parents my priorities shifted. I was busy with my family and my medical practice, and art took a back seat for about 30 years.

But when my youngest left for college, I signed up for a drawing class and it opened a part of me that I thought had been extinguished. I began to take more classes, and then eventually set up a studio in my home.

Now, I enjoy a wide range of mediums including painting, collage, pastel, and drawing. This website is my journey into art and into imagination. My pieces are works of learning and expressiveness. I often study other artworks and copy them to grasp color, composition, and technique. (Of course, these pieces are for my benefit, and not for sale! )

Thank you for being a part of my experience.
